About Us....
Beaufort Renovations was founded by Dave Chalupa in 1989. I started out doing handyman type jobs, bathrooms, ceramic tiles, repairs and gradually built a company that is capable of building quality additions to custom homes and everything in between. My wife and I had triplets 12 years ago to add to are already busy lives and family has been my number one priority. My kids are now 12 and it’s time to take my business to the next level.I felt that to grow my business I had to get the word out, as most of my business is through referrals and repeat business, that will only get you so far. I wanted to let everyone know just how good I am at what I do, so I decided to submit a video entry to HGTV last August and was chosen to compete in HGTV’s Handyman Superstar Challenge that was taped in Sept. 07. and is now airing.
I was contacted and was chosen to compete for the title of “Canada’s Handyman Superstar.” I stayed in Toronto for the entire ten days of filming, I had no idea how many talented people were involved in filming a TV show. It was long, stressful days, competing with great and talented people trying to do their best on a show that everyone wanted to win.
Meeting Mike Holmes and Jim Caruk was amazing. They are both stand up guys and very knowledgeable and it was a pleasure having the opportunity to work with them.
